Here are a couple of rad articles on RavenEye’s Best Band nomination:

KickStarter Success!

WE DID IT! Not only did we do it but we freaking smashed it out the park and then some!

A HUGE thank-you to everyone that got involved with RavenEye’s campaign! It has been an overwhelming outcome and one that definitely takes the pressure off us, allowing us to get over to the USA and really smash it out of the park. We truly have the greatest fans, we are so lucky – we hope to see you on the road soon!!

We are now packing our essentials for the tour!

US Visa Success!!

Kev and I visited the US Embassy early this morning and we’re happy to report that our visas were approved!

All is ready for the tour, we’ll be on our way to the USA in ten days!

Meanwhile Oli was busy at home preparing for the tour…

Nikki Sixx Loves RavenEye

RavenEye have been singled out by Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue! We are confirmed to appear on Sixx Sense on iHeartRadio in October whilst we are in the USA.

This is what Nikki had to say about us:

“Keep an eye on Raveneye. They are organic, raw and I hear a real ‘70s influence with these guys.  When a band like this nails it, you never forget it. Wait for that riff in the middle of the song. The girls won’t forget the singer’s name either. There’s a lot more where these bands came from, so check back next month. Rock is on the rise again—expect hearing loss in your future.”

So thank you Nikki Sixx for your awesome support!

RavenEye Live Acoustic Session on Team Rock London

RavenEye recently had a live radio interview and acoustic session in the early hours of a Thursday in August. We played a few tunes and had a chat Big Boy Bloater about touring and performing as RavenEye.

Union Bass Glory

Before starting RavenEye’s support tour with The Blues Pills around the UK, I was sent a brand new electric bass by Dave Fyffe from Union Guitars in Perth, Australia.

Up until this point in my career, I’ve been a one-bass-man only ever using the Fender Jazz that I bought when I was 17. However, Dave was gracious enough to design this instrument on certain specs that I like.

“In luscious gold-on-white, it sports Schaller tuners and bridge, and has Stewart MacDonald “Golden Age” pick-ups with an Aguilar pre-amp.  The bolt-on neck is maple with a rosewood board.  The body is two-piece swamp ash.” – www.unionguitars.com

I tend to favour the bridge pickup so Dave combined the Jazz pickup and Precision pickup for this bass, which has resulted in a bass-heavy tone – great for heavy rock RavenEye. I also favour slim necks for speed and agility. This can result in changes in the action due to changes in the weather/humidity but it wasn’t a problem on the bass’ first tour.Obviously, the bass looks sexy as shit! and is quiet light compared to the Fender. Combined with my Aguilar DB751 and DB212, this bass sounds huge whilst giving me the speed and dexterity to get around all the RavenEye riffs.I cannot big this bass up enough!

Big thanks to Tommy Atkins from Lincoln Studios for these amazing pics!!
